Chapter CVIII🇪🇸🇷🇺🇮🇳🇨🇳Enoch

Chapter CVIII Summary

Enoch writes a book for his son Methuselah and future generations who keep the law. He tells them to wait for the end of evil and the destruction of sinners. Their names will be erased from the book of life, their descendants will be destroyed, and their spirits will be killed. They will cry and lament in a chaotic, fiery place with no earth. Enoch sees a bright flame and shining mountains. He asks an angel what it is. The angel explains it's a place for the spirits of sinners, blasphemers, and those who pervert God's words. Some of these things are written in heaven for angels to read. The angel also mentions the spirits of the humble and those who were mistreated but loved God. Enoch describes people who loved God more than worldly things, endured suffering, and were pure in spirit. God will reward them for their faithfulness. He will also transform those born in darkness and seat the faithful on thrones of honour. The righteous will shine forever, while sinners will be led into darkness. The sinners will see the righteous shining and will cry out.

Verse 1

Enoch wrote another book for his son Methuselah and for future generations who will follow God's laws in the last days.

Verse 2

Those who have done good will wait for those times until those who do evil are finished, and the power of those who break the rules is ended.

Verse 3

Wait until sin is gone, for their names will be erased from the book of life and the holy books. Their descendants will be destroyed forever, their spirits will die, and they will cry and mourn in a chaotic wilderness. They will burn in the fire, for there is no earth there.

Verse 4

I saw something like an invisible cloud there. Because it was so deep, I couldn't see over it. I saw a bright flame of fire and what looked like shining mountains moving around and back and forth.

Verse 5

I asked one of the holy angels with me, "What is that bright thing? It's not a heaven, just the glow of a fierce fire, with voices of weeping, crying, lamenting, and intense suffering."

Verse 6

He told me, "This place you see is where the spirits of sinners, those who speak against God, and those who do evil are thrown. It's also for those who twist the words that God has spoken through the prophets--even the things that are yet to come."

Verse 7

Some of these things are written and recorded in heaven so that the angels can read them. They will know what will happen to the wicked, the spirits of the humble, those who have suffered in their bodies and been rewarded by God, and those who have been shamed by evil people.

Verse 8

Those who love God and did not love money or any of the good things in the world, but endured suffering for their faith.

Verse 9

Those who, from the time they were created, did not desire earthly food, but saw everything as temporary and lived that way. The Lord tested them greatly, and their spirits were found pure, so they could bless His name.

Verse 10

Here is the rewritten verse in simple modern English: I have written down all the blessings that are meant for them in the books. God has given them their reward because they loved heaven more than their life on earth. Even though they were mistreated and insulted by wicked people, they still blessed Me.

Verse 11

I will now call forth the spirits of the righteous who come from the generation of light. I will change those who were born into darkness, for they did not receive the honor in their physical lives that their faithfulness deserved.

Verse 12

I will bring out in bright light those who have loved my holy name, and I will give each a seat on a throne of honor.

Verse 13

They will shine forever, because God's justice is always fair. He will give faithful people a place in the home of those who do right.

Verse 14

Those who were born in darkness will be led into darkness, but the righteous will shine brightly.

Verse 15

The wicked will shout out in distress as they see the righteous shining brightly, and the righteous will go to their eternal home where their days and times have been set.
