Chapter LXXI Summary
My spirit went up to the heavens. I saw holy sons of God stepping on fire. Their clothes were white, and their faces shone like snow. I saw two streams of fire. The light was like hyacinth. I fell on my face before the Lord of Spirits. The angel Michael took my right hand. He lifted me up and showed me secrets. He showed me the ends of heaven and all the stars. He took my spirit to the highest heaven. I saw a house built of crystals. There were tongues of living fire between the crystals. I saw a girdle around the house. There were streams of living fire on its four sides. Seraphin, Cherubic, and Ophannin were around it. They guard the throne of glory and never sleep. I saw countless angels around the house. Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, and Phanuel went in and out of the house. They came out with the Head of Days. His head was white and pure as wool. His clothes were indescribable. I fell on my face. My body became relaxed, and my spirit changed. I cried out with a loud voice. I blessed and glorified and extolled. The Head of Days came with many angels. An angel came to me and greeted me. He said the Son of Man was born to righteousness. Righteousness is always with him. The angel said the Son of Man brings peace. All will walk in his ways. The righteous will live with him forever. The Son of Man will have long life. The righteous will have peace and an upright way in the name of the Lord of Spirits forever.
After this, my spirit was taken up and I rose into the heavens. There, I saw the holy angels of God. They were walking on flames of fire, dressed in white clothing, and their faces shone brightly, like snow.
I saw two streams of fire, and the light from that fire was as bright as hyacinth. I fell down with my face to the ground before the Lord of Spirits.
The angel Michael took hold of my right hand, lifted me up, and guided me through all the hidden things. He showed me all the secrets of what is right.
He showed me all the hidden things at the edges of the sky, all the places where the stars and other bright objects are kept, and where they come from before they appear to the holy ones.
He took my spirit up to the highest heaven, and I saw what looked like a building made of crystals. Between the crystals were tongues of living fire.
My spirit saw the belt that wrapped around the house of fire, and on its four sides were streams filled with living fire, surrounding that house.
Around the throne were the Seraphim, Cherubim, and Ophannim. These beings never sleep and they protect the throne of His glory.
I saw countless angels, thousands of thousands and ten thousand times ten thousand, surrounding that house. Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Phanuel, and the holy angels who are above the heavens were going in and out of that house.
And they left that house, accompanied by Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Phanuel, and countless other holy angels.
The Ancient of Days was with them, his hair white and pure as wool, and his clothes were beyond description.
I fell to the ground, my body went limp, and my spirit changed. I cried out loudly, filled with power, and praised, glorified, and honored.
These blessings that I spoke were pleasing to the Ancient One.
The Ancient of Days arrived with Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Phanuel, along with countless angels. [A missing part describes how the Son of Man was with the Ancient of Days, and Enoch asked an angel about the Son of Man, wanting to know who he was.]
An angel came to me and spoke to me, saying, "This is the Son of Man, who was born to bring righteousness. Righteousness always stays with him, and the righteousness of the Ancient One never leaves him."
He said to me, "I announce peace to you in the name of the world that is coming. Peace has come from this place since the beginning of the world, and it will be with you forever and ever."
All will follow his ways because righteousness never leaves him. They will live with him, and their inheritance will be with him. They will never be separated from him, forever and ever.
And so the Son of Man will live a long life, and the righteous will have peace and walk in the right path in the name of the Lord of Spirits forever and ever.
