Chapter LXV Summary
Noah sees the earth is sinking and in trouble. He goes to the ends of the earth and calls out to his grandfather Enoch three times, asking what is happening. A great noise comes from the earth, and a voice is heard from heaven. Noah falls to the ground. Enoch comes and asks Noah why he is crying out. Enoch explains that a command has come from God. The people on earth will be destroyed because they have learned secret things from angels and demons. They know too much about magic, witchcraft, and making idols. They also know how metals come from the earth. Enoch tells Noah that God has said the earth will be destroyed because of these people's wrongdoing. Enoch says Noah is pure and will be saved. Noah's family will be kings and leaders, and many good people will come from them.
In those days, Noah saw that the earth had sunk down and its destruction was near.
He got up from there and went to the farthest parts of the earth, shouting loudly to his grandfather Enoch. Noah said three times with a bitter voice, "Listen to me, listen to me, listen to me."
I asked him, "Can you tell me what's happening on Earth? It's in such bad shape and shaking. I'm worried I might die with it."
There was a great disturbance on the earth, and a voice came from heaven. I fell down on my face.
Enoch, my grandfather, came and stood beside me. He asked, "Why are you crying out to me with such sadness and tears?"
God has decreed that the people on earth will be destroyed because they have learned all the angels' secrets, all the demons' violence, and all their hidden powers. They also know the power of those who do magic, the power of witchcraft, and the power of those who make idols for the entire world.
