Chapter XIII Summary

Enoch went to Azazel. He told Azazel he would not have peace. A severe sentence was against him. He would be bound. He would not get what he asked for. This was because of the bad things he taught. It was also because of the bad things he showed to people. Enoch spoke to all the others. They were afraid. Fear and trembling took them. They asked Enoch to write a request for them. They wanted forgiveness. They wanted Enoch to read it to the Lord of heaven. They could not speak to the Lord. They could not look up to heaven. They were too ashamed of their sins. Enoch wrote their request. He wrote about their spirits and their deeds. He wrote about their requests. He wanted them to be forgiven. He wanted them to have long lives. He went to the waters of Dan. He read their request. He fell asleep. Enoch had a dream. He saw visions of punishment. A voice told him to tell the sons of heaven. It told him to reprimand them. He woke up. He went to them. They were all sitting together. They were crying. They were in 'Abelsjail. It is between Lebanon and Seneser. Their faces were covered. Enoch told them the visions he saw. He started to speak the words of righteousness. He started to reprimand the heavenly Watchers.

Verse 1

Enoch went and said, "Azazel, you will find no peace. A harsh judgment has been made against you, and you will be bound."

Verse 2

You will not be tolerated or granted any requests because of the wrongdoing you have taught and all the wicked, unjust, and sinful things you have shown to people.

Verse 3

I approached and spoke to all of them at once, and they were all terrified, overcome with fear and trembling.

Verse 4

They asked me to write a request for them, hoping to be forgiven, and to read this request out loud to the Lord of heaven.

Verse 5

They could no longer speak to Him or even look up at heaven because they were too ashamed of their sins, which had led to their condemnation.

Verse 6

I recorded their requests, their prayers for their spirits, their individual actions, and their hope for forgiveness and longer life.

Verse 7

I left and sat down by the waters of Dan, in the land of Dan, to the south of Mount Hermon. I read their request until I fell asleep.

Verse 8

A dream came to me, and I had visions. I saw visions of punishment, and a voice told me to share this with the angels and warn them.

Verse 9

I woke up and went to them, and they were all sitting together, crying in 'Abelsjail, which is between Lebanon and Seneser, with their faces covered.

Verse 10

I told them all about the visions I had seen in my dreams. I started talking about what is right and wrong, and I scolded the heavenly Watchers.
