Chapter CI🇪🇸🇷🇺🇮🇳🇨🇳Enoch

Chapter CI Summary

The children of heaven are told to look at the sky and all that the Most High has made. They should fear Him and not do evil. If the Most High stops the rain because of their actions, they will be in trouble. They cannot ask for His help because they have spoken proudly against Him. They will not have peace. Sailors on ships are tossed by waves and winds. They fear the sea because their belongings are on it. They worry the sea will swallow them. The sea and all its movements are made by the Most High. He has set limits to it. At His command, the sea dries up and all its fish die. But people on earth do not fear the Most High. He made the heaven, earth, and everything in them. He gave understanding and wisdom to everything that moves. Sailors fear the sea, but sinners do not fear the Most High. The righteous are looked at. No violence is found in them until they die. But they perish and seem like they never were. Their spirits go to Sheol in trouble.

Verse 1

Watch the sky, you heavenly beings, and see all that the Most High has made. Fear Him and do not act wickedly before Him.

Verse 2

If He shuts the heavens and stops the rain and dew from falling on the earth because of you, what will you do then?

Verse 3

If God becomes angry with you because of your actions, you won't be able to ask for His help. You've spoken arrogantly against His justice, so you won't find peace.

Verse 4

And haven't you seen the sailors on ships, how their ships are tossed around by the waves, shaken by the winds, and are in great distress?

Verse 5

They are afraid because all their valuable belongings are on the sea with them, and they have a bad feeling that the sea might swallow them up and they will die in it.

Verse 6

Here is the rewritten verse: Isn't the entire sea and all its waters, along with all its movements, the work of the Most High? Hasn't He set limits to what it does and confined it everywhere by the sand?

Verse 7

And when He rebukes it, the sea becomes afraid and dries up, and all its fish die along with everything else in it. But you sinners on earth do not fear Him.

Verse 8

God created the heavens, the earth, and everything in them. He has given wisdom and understanding to all living things on the earth and in the sea.

Verse 9

Sailors are afraid of the sea, but sinners do not fear the Most High.

Verse 10

Have you noticed how the righteous live? They face no violence until the day they die.

Verse 11

They were destroyed and became as if they had never existed. Their spirits went down to the place of the dead in great suffering.
