Chapter XCIX Summary

People who do wrong and lie will not have a good life. They will be crushed. Those who twist the truth and break the rules will be stepped on. In bad times, good people should pray and remind the angels of the sins of the wicked. Nations will rise up and cause trouble. Parents will abandon their children, even babies, and not care about them. Sinners are warned that a day of endless bloodshed is coming. Those who worship idols and false gods will not be helped. They will become afraid and confused. They will be destroyed suddenly. But people who listen to wise words and follow the right path will be saved. Those who harm their neighbors will be punished in the afterlife. People who cheat and cause trouble will be completely destroyed. Those who build their homes by making others suffer will not have peace. People who forget their past and follow false gods will not have rest. Those who do wrong and help others do wrong will be punished. They will be destroyed by a sword, and good people will remember their sins.

Verse 1

Woe to you who do evil things, and take pride in lying and praising them: You will be destroyed, and you will not have a happy life.

Verse 2

Woe to those who twist the words of truth, break the eternal law, and change themselves into sinners. They will be crushed beneath the feet of others on this earth.

Verse 3

In those days, get ready, you who are righteous, to raise your prayers as a reminder. Place them as evidence before the angels, so they can present the sins of the wicked as a reminder to God.

Verse 4

In those days, the nations will be stirred up, and the families of the nations will rise up on the day of destruction.

Verse 5

In those days, the poor will take their children and leave them to die. They will abandon even their babies who are still nursing and won't go back for them. They won't feel any pity for their own loved ones.

Verse 6

I solemnly promise you, you who do wrong, that your wrongdoing is being prepared for a day of endless violence.

Verse 7

Those who worship stones, statues made of gold, silver, wood, stone, or clay, and those who worship evil spirits, demons, and all kinds of idols without true understanding, will receive no help from them.

Verse 8

They will become godless because of their foolish hearts. Their eyes will be blinded by their fear and the visions they see in their dreams.

Verse 9

They will become godless and fearful because they have done all their work based on lies and worshipped stones. That's why they will suddenly be destroyed.

Verse 10

In those days, those who accept and understand wise words, follow the ways of the Most High, and live in His righteousness without turning away from Him will be saved.

Verse 11

Woe to you who bring harm to your neighbors, for you will be killed in the place of the dead.

Verse 12

Woe to you who create dishonest and false measurements, and to those who spread bitterness on the earth; for they will be completely destroyed because of this.

Verse 13

Woe to you who build your houses by making others work hard, using materials gained through sin. I tell you, you will never have peace.

Verse 14

Woe to those who reject the teachings and eternal heritage passed down from their ancestors and whose hearts chase after false gods, for they will never find peace.

Verse 15

Woe to those who do wrong and support injustice, and kill their neighbors until the day of the great judgment.

Verse 16

He will humble you, bringing suffering to your hearts, and awaken His fierce anger. He will destroy all of you with the sword, and the holy and righteous will remember your sins.
