"Now it came to pass, when Adonizedec king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;"
Then, when Adonizedec, the king of Jerusalem, heard about Joshua taking and completely destroying Ai, just like he did with Jericho and its king, he also did the same to Ai and its king. Additionally, the people from Gibeon made a peace agreement with Israel and started living among them.
"And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle."
The king of Israel told Jehoshaphat, "I'll hide my identity and join the fight, but you wear your royal clothes." The king hid his identity and they went to fight.
"And they shall be a spectacle for the righteous and for His elect: They shall rejoice over them, Because the wrath of the Lord of Spirits resteth upon them, And His sword is drunk with their blood."
They will be a warning to the righteous and God's chosen ones. The righteous will be glad because God's anger is upon them, and His sword is filled with their blood.
"And truth and peace shall be associated together throughout all the days of the world and throughout all the generations of men.' XII-XVI. Dream Vision of Enoch: his intercession for Azazel and the fallen Angels: and his announcement to them of their first and final doom."
Truth and peace will always go together throughout all time and all generations of people.
"Here mine eyes saw their dwellings with His righteous angels, And their resting-places with the holy. And they petitioned and interceded and prayed for the children of men, And righteousness flowed before them as water, And mercy like dew upon the earth: Thus it is amongst them for ever and ever. 6a. And in that place mine eyes saw the Elect One of righteousness and of faith, 7a. And I saw his dwelling-place under the wings of the Lord of Spirits. 6b. And righteousness shall prevail in his days, And the righteous and elect shall be without number before Him for ever and ever. 7b. And all the righteous and elect before Him shall be +strong+ as fiery lights, And their mouth shall be full of blessing, And their lips extol the name of the Lord of Spirits, And righteousness before Him shall never fail, [And uprightness shall never fail before Him.]"
I saw where the righteous angels live, and their resting places with the holy ones. They prayed and asked for God's mercy for the children of men. Righteousness flowed like water, and mercy was like dew on the earth. This is how it always is with them. I also saw the chosen one, the righteous and faithful one. His home is under the wings of the Lord of Spirits. Righteousness will always be with him, and there will be countless righteous and chosen ones with him forever. They will be as bright as fire, their words full of blessings, and they will always praise the name of the Lord of Spirits. Righteousness and uprightness will never fail before him.
