Chapter XXXIX Summary

Holy children will come down from heaven and mix with people on earth. Enoch receives books of anger and punishment. No mercy will be given. A whirlwind takes Enoch to the end of the heavens. He sees the homes of the holy and righteous. They pray for people, and goodness flows like water. Enoch sees the chosen one of righteousness. He lives under God's wings. Righteousness and goodness will always be with him. Enoch wants to stay there. He praises God's name. He looks at the place and keeps praising. He says God is holy and fills the earth with spirits. Enoch's face changes, and he can't look anymore.

Verse 1

In those days, chosen and holy children will come down from heaven, and their descendants will unite with the people of the earth.

Verse 2

In those days, Enoch was given books of passion and anger, and books of trouble and banishment. God says that they will not receive mercy.

Verse 3

A whirlwind lifted me up from the earth and placed me at the edge of the sky.

Verse 4

I saw another vision, the homes of the holy ones and the places where the righteous rest.

Verse 5

I saw where the righteous angels live, and their resting places with the holy ones. They prayed and asked for God's mercy for the children of men. Righteousness flowed like water, and mercy was like dew on the earth. This is how it always is with them. I also saw the chosen one, the righteous and faithful one. His home is under the wings of the Lord of Spirits. Righteousness will always be with him, and there will be countless righteous and chosen ones with him forever. They will be as bright as fire, their words full of blessings, and they will always praise the name of the Lord of Spirits. Righteousness and uprightness will never fail before him.

Verse 8

I wanted to live there, and my spirit desired that home. That place has always been my share, for it was decided for me by the Lord of Spirits.

Verse 9

In those days, I praised and honored the name of the Lord of Spirits with blessings and thanks, because He chose me to receive blessings and glory as He desired.

Verse 10

For a long time, I looked at that place, and I blessed and praised Him, saying: 'He is blessed, and may He always be blessed, from the very beginning and forever.'

Verse 11

He never stops. Before the world was created, He knew what would last forever and what would happen from one generation to the next.

Verse 12

Those who never sleep praise You. They stand before Your glory, blessing, praising, and honoring You, saying, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Spirits. He fills the earth with spirits."

Verse 13

Here my eyes saw all those who never sleep. They stand before Him, praising and saying, "You are blessed, and the name of the Lord is blessed forever and ever."

Verse 14

I couldn't keep looking; my face changed.
