Chapter XCVIII🇪🇸🇷🇺🇮🇳🇨🇳Enoch

Chapter XCVIII Summary

Men will wear more adornments than women. They will have colored garments, royalty, grandeur, power, silver, gold, purple, splendor, and food in abundance. They will lack wisdom and doctrine. They will perish with their possessions, glory, and splendor. Their spirits will be cast into a furnace of fire. Sin is not sent upon the earth by a higher power. Man creates it himself. Those who commit sin will fall under a great curse. Barrenness is not given to women. It is because of their own deeds that they die without children. All evil deeds are revealed in the heavens. No oppressive deeds are covered or hidden. Every sin is recorded in heaven in the presence of the Most High. Every day, all oppression is written down until the day of judgement. Fools will perish through their own folly. They transgress against the wise and will not have good fortune. They are prepared for the day of destruction. They should not hope to live but should expect to depart and die. They know no ransom and are prepared for the day of great judgement, tribulation, and great shame for their spirits. Those who love wickedness should not expect good fortune. They will be delivered into the hands of the righteous, who will cut off their necks and slay them without mercy. Those who rejoice in the tribulation of the righteous will have no grave dug for them. Those who set at nought the words of the righteous will have no hope of life. Those who write down lying and godless words will die a sudden death.

Verse 1

I swear to you, both the wise and the foolish, that you will go through many different experiences on earth.

Verse 2

Men will wear more adornments than women, and more colorful clothes than a virgin. They will be filled with royalty, grandeur, power, silver, gold, purple, and splendor. They will have an abundance of food, as if it were water.

Verse 3

They will lack teaching and wisdom, and because of this, they will be destroyed along with everything they own. Their glory and splendor will be gone, and they will be left in shame, violence, and extreme poverty. Their spirits will be thrown into the fiery furnace.

Verse 4

I have made this promise to you, sinners: just as a mountain cannot become a slave or a hill cannot become a servant to a woman, so too sin was not forced upon the earth. Instead, people themselves have created it. Those who commit sin will fall under a great curse.

Verse 5

A woman is not naturally barren. Instead, because of her own actions, she dies without having children.

Verse 6

I have made a solemn promise to you, you sinners, by the Holy and Great One, that all your evil actions are known in heaven, and none of your oppressive deeds are hidden or kept secret.

Verse 7

Do not think or say that you don't know or see that every sin is recorded every day in heaven before God.

Verse 8

From now on, you should know that every act of oppression you commit is being recorded every day until the day of your judgment.

Verse 9

Woe to you, you foolish people, for your foolishness will lead to your downfall. You go against the wise, so you will not receive any good fortune.

Verse 10

You are ready for the day of destruction, so do not expect to live. You sinners will die, for there is no ransom for you. You are prepared for the day of great judgment, a day of trouble and great shame for your spirits.

Verse 11

Woe to you who are stubborn and do evil, who consume what is wrong: Where do you get all the good food and drink to enjoy? It all comes from the abundance the Lord Most High has provided on earth, yet because of your actions, you will never have true peace.

Verse 12

Woe to you who love doing wrong. Why do you expect good things to happen to you? You will be handed over to the righteous, who will cut off your necks and kill you, showing no mercy.

Verse 13

Woe to you who are happy when the righteous suffer; you will not have a grave.

Verse 14

Woe to you who ignore the words of the righteous; you will have no hope for life.

Verse 15

Here is the rewritten verse: "Trouble will come to those who write down false and godless words. They write these lies so that others will hear them and treat their neighbors badly."

Verse 16

They will have no peace and will die suddenly.
