Chapter XXXIV Summary

I went north to the ends of the earth. There, I saw a great and glorious device. I also saw three open portals in the heaven. North winds come through these portals. When they blow, there is cold, hail, frost, snow, dew, and rain. One portal brings good winds. The other two bring violent and harmful winds. These violent winds cause trouble on earth.

Verse 1

I traveled north to the farthest parts of the earth, and there I saw a magnificent and awe-inspiring structure at the very edge of the world.

Verse 2

I saw three openings in the sky, and through each one, cold northern winds blow, bringing cold, hail, frost, snow, dew, and rain.

Verse 3

From one opening, they bring good, but from the other two, they cause trouble and suffering on earth, and they do so forcefully.
