Psalms 142

I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication.

I called out to God using my voice; I prayed to God using my voice.

I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.

I told him about my problem and worry.

When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

When I felt too tired inside, you knew what I needed. People secretly set a trap for me while I was walking.

I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

I checked my right side and saw nobody who knew me. My safe place didn't help; no one cared about my life.

I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

I called out to you, God: I said, You are my protection and what I have in the land of the living.

Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.

Listen to my call, as I'm feeling weak. Save me from my enemies, as they are too powerful for me.

Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.

Free my soul from captivity so I can praise your name. Surround me with righteous people, because you will be very kind to me.
