Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
Simple English
Then the religious leaders asked Jesus, "Why don't your followers follow the old traditions by washing their hands before eating? They eat bread with dirty hands."
