John 15

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

I am the real vine, and my Father is the one who takes care of it.

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Any branch without fruit is removed; branches with fruit are cleaned up to produce even more fruit.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Now, you are made pure by the words I've told you.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Stay connected with me, and I will stay connected with you. Just like a branch cannot produce fruit without being attached to the vine, you also cannot produce results unless you stay connected to me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

I am the vine; you are the branches. Stay with me and let me stay with you, and together we will produce much fruit. Without me, you can accomplish nothing.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If a person doesn't stay connected to me, they are like a branch that dries up and gets thrown away. People collect these dried branches and burn them in a fire.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

If you stay connected to me and my words stay with you, you can ask for anything, and it will be done.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

In this way, my Father is honored when you produce lots of good results. Then, you will be my followers.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

Just like the Father loves me, I love you too. Keep loving me back.

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

If you follow my rules, you will stay in my love, just like how I followed my Father's rules and stayed in his love.

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

I said these words so happiness stays with you and your happiness grows more.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

This means: "I'm telling you to care for each other the same way I cared for you."

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

"No greater love exists than for a person to give their life for their friends."

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

If you do whatever I tell you, then you are my friends.

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

From now on, I won't call you servants because they don't know what their master does. But I have called you friends, because I tell you everything I hear from my Father.

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

I didn't choose you; I chose you and appointed you to go and produce good results. Your outcomes will last, and whatever you request from the Father using my name, He will give you.

These things I command you, that ye love one another.

Love each other, as I tell you to do.

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

If the world dislikes you, remember it disliked me first before it disliked you.

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

If you belonged to the world, the world would like its own kind. But since you don't belong to the world and I chose you from it, that's why the world doesn't like you.

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

Remember what I told you: A servant isn't more important than their master. If they treated me badly, they'll do the same to you. If they listened to my words, they'll listen to yours too.

But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.

But they'll treat you badly for my sake, because they don't know the one who sent me.

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.

If I didn't talk to them, they wouldn't have done wrong things. But now, they have nothing to hide their wrongdoing.

He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

If someone hates me, they also hate my Father.

If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

If I didn't do unique actions among them, they wouldn't be sinful. But now, they've seen what I did and also what my Father does, and they hate both of us.

But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

However, this event occurs so the words in their laws come true, stating they disliked me for no reason.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

But when the Comforter arrives, who I will send to you from the Father, it's the Spirit of truth that comes from the Father. He will tell about me.

And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

You too will testify, since you have been with me from the start.
