And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him. David said, "I will be kind to Hanun, son of Nahash, because his dad was kind to me." David then sent messengers to Hanun to offer comfort after the loss of his father. So, David's helpers went to the land of the Ammon people to see Hanun and provide comfort.
