Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.
Simple English
Don't walk without shoes and don't drink when you're thirsty, but you said there's no hope. You love strangers and plan to follow them instead.
