Genesis 26:9
←Back to VersesAnd Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her.
Abimelech asked Isaac why he called his wife his sister. Isaac explained that he said it to protect her, so they wouldn't kill him because of her.
