Ezra

Describes the return of the Jews from Babylonian exile and the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem.

Chapter 1

KJV - Ezra 1:2

Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

Cyrus, king of Persia, says that the Lord God of heaven has given him control over all the kingdoms on Earth. He has been instructed by God to rebuild a house in Jerusalem, a city in Judah.
