§ 02 · King James Bible

Ezekiel 21:10

It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.

Simple English

This verse says that something is made sharp for killing and polished to shine, yet we are supposed to be happy about it. It disregards the weapon like a stick used by a child, just like any other tree.
