Chapter 18

KJV - 2 Samuel 18:5

And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.

The king told Joab, Abishai, and Ittai to be kind to Absalom, who was a young man. He wanted them to take special care of him. Everyone heard the king giving these orders to the leaders about Absalom.
