Assures believers of eternal life through faith in Jesus and commands love for God and one another.

Chapter 3

KJV - 1 John 3:17

But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

If someone has wealth but sees their brother in need and doesn't show compassion, how can they have God's love?
