Zebulun (Hebrew: זְבֻלֻן, Modern: Zevulun, Tiberian: Zəḇūlūn; Arabic: زَبُولُون, romanized: Zabūlūn; Greek: Ζαβουλών, romanized: Zaboulōn) is one of the twelve tribes of Israel, named after the fourth son of Jacob and the sixth son of Leah, according to the Hebrew Bible. The tribe of Zebulun is traditionally associated with the land of Naphtali and Asher, located in the northern part of the ancient Kingdom of Israel, along the Mediterranean coast. In the biblical narrative, Zebulun is often mentioned in conjunction with Issachar, and the two tribes are sometimes grouped together. The blessing given to Zebulun by his father Jacob in Genesis 49:13 describes the tribe as a people who would dwell by the seashore and whose haven would be by the sea, indicating their maritime and commercial activities. The tribe of Zebulun played a significant role in the Israelite conquest of Canaan and is listed among the tribes that received an allotment of land in the Promised Land.
