Valerii Zaluzhnyi

Valery Zaluzhny (Ukrainian: Валерій Федорович Залужний, romanized: Valeriy Fedurovych Zaluzhny) is a Ukrainian military officer who has served as the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces since July 27, 2021. Born on July 8, 1973, in Novohrad-Volynskyi, Ukrainian SSR, Zaluzhny has played a pivotal role in Ukraine's defense, particularly during the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine that began in February 2022. Valerii Fedorovych Zaluzhnyi is a Ukrainian four-star general and diplomat who is currently serving as Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom. He served as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 27 July 2021 until 8 February 2024. He was also concurrently a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
