Scorpio

Scorpio is the eighth astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Scorpius. It spans 210–240th degree of celestial longitude. Under the tropical zodiac, the sun transits this area on average between October 23 to November 21 each year. In sidereal astrology, its period of influence varies due to precession of the equinoxes. The symbol of the scorpion is based on Skorpios, a giant mythical scorpion sent by Artemis to kill the giant hunter Orion. The Hebrew translation for Scorpio is עקרב (Akrav). In Arabic, it is known as العقرب (Al-‘Aqrab), and in Spanish, it is called Escorpión. Scorpio is one of the water signs, the fixed quality, and the ruling planet is Mars (with Pluto as a secondary ruler in modern astrology). Individuals born under this sign are often associated with traits such as passion, determination, and intensity.
