Nazareth

Nazareth is the capital and largest city in the Northern District of Israel. It is located in the Lower Galilee, about 25 kilometers (16 miles) away from the Sea of Galilee. The city is known for being the childhood home of Jesus, as mentioned in the New Testament, and is a significant center of Christianity. The name "Nazareth" is derived from the Hebrew word "Notzrah" (נֹצְרַת), which means "watchtower" or "guard post." The city also commands immense religious significance, deriving from its status as the hometown of Jesus, the central figure of Christianity and a prophet in Islam and the Baháʼí Faith.
