Manglik Dosha

Manglik dosha, also known as Mangal dosha or Kuja dosha, is an astrological condition in Hindu Vedic astrology that is believed to occur when the planet Mars (known as Mangal or Kuja in Sanskrit) is positioned in certain houses of a person's birth chart, particularly the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house. The term Manglik dosha translates to "Mars defect" or "Mars affliction" and is often translated to Hebrew as חוסר שיווי משקל של מארס. In Tamil, it is referred to as Angarakha dosham, and in Telugu, it is called Kujadosham. This condition is considered inauspicious and is believed to bring challenges in marriage and relationships. As a result, astrologers often advise specific remedies or compatibility checks, such as matching a Manglik individual with another Manglik, to mitigate the perceived negative effects. The concept is widely discussed in traditional Hindu astrological texts and remains a significant consideration in many Indian marriages.
