Kurupira

The Kurupira is a mythical creature from Brazilian folklore, often depicted as a forest guardian with red hair, a mischievous nature, and the ability to control the winds. Known for its trickster behavior, the Kurupira is said to protect the animals and plants of the forest, punishing those who harm the environment. The creature is also associated with the color red and is sometimes described as having backward-facing feet, which allows it to confuse hunters and loggers. In Portuguese, the name "Kurupira" is derived from the Tupi language, where "Kuru" means "red" and "Pira" means "devil" or "spirit." There is no direct translation for "Kurupira" in Hebrew, but it can be loosely described as רוח היער הקסומה (the magical forest spirit). In Spanish, the creature is sometimes referred to as "Curupira," maintaining its cultural significance in regions like Argentina and Paraguay.
