Information warfare

Information war, also known as information warfare or infowar, refers to the use of information and communication technologies during warfare to achieve an advantage over an opponent. This can involve the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information, as well as the manipulation or disruption of an enemy's information systems. The goal is to degrade enemy capabilities, improve friendly capabilities, or influence behavior or decision-making. In Hebrew, this concept is translated as מלחמת המידע (Milhemet HaMida). In Russian, it is known as информационная война (informatsionnaya voyna), and in Arabic, it is referred to as حرب المعلومات (Harb al-Ma'lumat). Information war encompasses a wide range of activities, including cyber warfare, electronic warfare, psychological operations, and the use of social media to influence public opinion. It is a critical aspect of modern warfare, where the ability to control and manipulate information can be as crucial as traditional military operations.

Information warfare
Information warfare (IW) is the battlespace use and management of information and communication technology (ICT) in pursuit of a competitive advantage over an opponent. It is different from cyberwarfare that attacks computers, software, and command control systems. Information warfare is the manipulation of information trusted by a target without the target's awareness so that the target will make decisions against their interest but in the interest of the one conducting information warfare. As a result, it is not clear when information warfare begins, ends, and how strong or destructive it is.
