Horus Eye Symbolism

The Eye of Horus, also known as the Wadjet eye, is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power, and good health. It is associated with the god Horus, who, in Egyptian mythology, lost his left eye in a struggle with his uncle Seth. The eye was later restored by the god Thoth, symbolizing healing and protection. The symbol is often depicted as a stylized eye and was used as an amulet to protect the living and the dead. The Eye of Horus is also associated with the concept of ma'at, representing balance, harmony, and truth. In Hebrew, the symbol is sometimes referred to as עין חורוס (Ein Horus). In Arabic, it is known as عين هورس (Ayn Horus), and in French, it is called l'Œil d'Horus. The symbol has been widely adopted in modern culture, often used in jewelry, tattoos, and various forms of art to represent protection and healing.
