Flatearth

The Flat Earth theory is the erroneous belief that the Earth is a flat plane rather than a spherical or ellipsoidal shape, as evidenced by scientific consensus and empirical observation. In עברית (Hebrew), it is known as הארץ שטוחה. The term is also translated as Terra plana in Spanish, Terre plate in French, and Flache Erde in German. This concept contradicts the overwhelming evidence from astronomy, physics, and space exploration that supports the Earth's spherical shape. The modern Flat Earth movement gained traction in the 19th century, despite being debunked by ancient Greek philosophers such as Pythagoras, Aristotle, and Eratosthenes, who provided evidence for a spherical Earth. Proponents of the Flat Earth theory often rely on misinterpretations of observations, conspiracy theories, and pseudoscientific arguments to support their claims. Despite the lack of scientific validity, the idea persists in various forms, often fueled by distrust in mainstream science and institutions.
