Different Astrology Systems

Astrology is a range of divination practices, recognized as pseudoscientific by modern scientists, that attempt to interpret the influence of celestial bodies on human affairs and terrestrial events. Different astrology systems have emerged across various cultures and historical periods, each with its unique methodologies and interpretations. In Hebrew, astrology is known as "אסטרולוגיה" (Astrrologia). The most well-known system is Western astrology, which is based on the tropical zodiac and is widely practiced in the Western world. It focuses on the sun sign, which is determined by the position of the sun at the time of birth. In Spanish, astrology is called "astrología," and in German, it is "Astrologie." Another prominent system is Vedic astrology, originating from ancient India, which uses the sidereal zodiac and places emphasis on the moon sign, known as the "Rashi." Chinese astrology, or "占星术" (Zhānxīngshù) in Chinese, is based on the traditional Chinese calendar and incorporates the Chinese zodiac, which consists of 12 animal signs. Each of these systems has its own set of rules, symbols, and interpretations, reflecting the cultural and historical contexts in which they developed.
