Covert

Covert is an adjective used to describe something that is done secretly or kept hidden, typically to avoid detection or to maintain secrecy. In a military or intelligence context, covert operations are activities designed to be hidden from the general public or enemy forces. The term originates from the Latin word "covertus," meaning "covered" or "concealed." In Hebrew, the equivalent term is סמוי (samui), while in French, it is caché or secret, and in Spanish, it is encubierto or secreto. Covert actions can include espionage, sabotage, or other activities conducted in a way that the participants' identities or the true nature of the operation are kept secret. These operations are often contrasted with overt actions, which are openly acknowledged and conducted without concealment.
