Covenant Ark

The Covenant Ark, also known as the Ark of the Covenant (Hebrew: אֲרוֹן הַבְּרִית, Aron HaBrit), is a chest described in the Hebrew Bible as containing the Ten Commandments given to Moses by God. It is a significant religious symbol in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, representing the bond between God and His chosen people. The Ark is described as being constructed of acacia wood and gold, with a lid known as the Kapporet (Hebrew: כַּפֹּרֶת) or mercy seat, flanked by two cherubim. The Ark played a central role in the religious life of the Israelites, particularly during the time of the Tabernacle and the First Temple in Jerusalem. In Christian tradition, the Ark is often associated with the Virgin Mary, who is seen as the new Ark carrying the new covenant, Jesus Christ. In Islamic tradition, the Ark is mentioned in the Quran as a sacred object that was carried by the Israelites. The current location of the Ark is unknown, with various theories and legends surrounding its fate.
