Chicken Parmesan, also known as Parmigiana di Pollo in Italian, is a dish consisting of breaded chicken breast covered with tomato sauce and mozzarella, parmesan, and other cheeses, then baked. It is often served with a side of pasta or a side salad and marinara sauce for dipping. The dish is a variation of the traditional Italian dish, Eggplant Parmesan (Parmigiana di Melanzane), where chicken replaces the eggplant. Chicken Parmesan is a popular dish in Italian-American cuisine and is commonly found in Italian restaurants across the United States and other countries. In Hebrew, it is known as פרמייזן של תרנגול (Parmizan shel Tarnegol). Other translations include Pollo a la Parmesana in Spanish and Poulet Parmesan in French.
