Carl von Clausewitz

Carl von Clausewitz (1780–1831) was a Prussian general and military theorist who is widely considered one of the most influential writers on the philosophy of war. His most notable work, Vom Kriege (On War), is considered a foundational text in Western military theory and strategy. Clausewitz's work emphasizes the "fog of war," the importance of morale and other intangible factors in warfare, and the concept that war is a continuation of politics by other means. In Hebrew, his name is transliterated as קרל פון קלאוזביץ. His ideas have been translated into numerous languages, including French (De la guerre), Russian (О войне), and Chinese (战争论). Clausewitz's theories remain highly relevant in military education and strategic studies, influencing generations of military leaders and strategists worldwide.
