Alf

Alf is a common abbreviation for Alien Life Form, a fictional extraterrestrial life form originating from the television series ALF (1986–1990). The character, known as ALF, is a friendly, wisecracking alien from the planet Melmac, who becomes stranded on Earth and lives with the Tanner family. The name "ALF" is also used colloquially to refer to extraterrestrial beings in general, particularly in science fiction contexts. In Hebrew, the term can be translated as חייזר (khayzer), which literally means "alien" or "extraterrestrial." In other languages, the term may be translated as Extraterrestre in Spanish, Extraterrestre in French, Außerirdischer in German, and エイリアン (Eirian) in Japanese.
