Lotus root (Hebrew: שורש לוטוס, shoresh lotus; Japanese: 蓮根, renkon; Chinese: 蓮藕, lián'ǒu) is the edible rhizome of several species of aquatic plants in the Nelumbonaceae family, particularly the sacred lotus (Nelumbo nucifera).
