In Egyptian mythology, Horus the Younger is a central figure in the Osiris myth, where he avenges his father Osiris's death by defeating Set, the murderer, and becomes the king of Egypt. The concept of Horus the Younger is deeply intertwined with the pharaohs, who were seen as the living embodiments of Horus on Earth. The name "Horus the Younger" can be translated to Hebrew as חורוס הצעיר (Khorus HaTza'ir). In Greek, he is known as Horus Ho Neos, and in Latin as Horus Minor.
