Retrogradeplanet

A retrograde planet is a planet that appears to move backwards in its orbit as observed from Earth. This apparent backward motion is an optical illusion caused by the relative positions and speeds of the planets in their orbits. In reality, planets do not reverse their orbital paths; instead, this phenomenon occurs when Earth overtakes a slower-moving planet or when a faster-moving planet overtakes Earth. The term "retrograde" comes from the Latin word retrogradus, meaning "moving backwards." In Hebrew, this phenomenon is known as כוכב לאחור (kókháv l'akhór). Retrograde motion has been observed since ancient times and was historically challenging to explain before the advent of the heliocentric model of the solar system. In astrology, retrograde planets are often believed to have significant influences on human affairs, although this is not supported by scientific evidence. The concept is also relevant in other languages, such as German (rückläufiger Planet) and French (planète rétrograde).
