Retrograde

The term retrograde is an adjective used to describe movement in the opposite direction, or a reversal in progression or development. In astronomy, it refers to the apparent backward motion of a planet or other celestial body as seen from Earth. In medicine, retrograde motion can describe the backward flow of bodily fluids, such as blood or urine. The term is derived from the Latin retrogradus, meaning "moving backward." In Hebrew, the term is translated as רטרוגרדי (retrogredi). In French, it is rétrograde, and in Spanish, it is retrogrado. Contextually, the term is often used in various scientific and medical fields to describe specific phenomena related to backward or reversed movement.
