Pakhet (also known as Raptor Lady) is an ancient Egyptian goddess who was primarily worshipped in the region of Speos Artemidos. She is often depicted as a lioness or a woman with a lion's head, symbolizing her protective and fierce nature. Pakhet was associated with the sun and was believed to protect the pharaoh and the people of Egypt from evil forces. Her name translates to She Who Scratches in Egyptian, reflecting her role as a protector and hunter. In Hebrew, her name can be translated as פַּחֲת (Pakhat). The goddess was also syncretized with other feline deities such as Sekhmet and Bastet, reflecting the complex and interconnected nature of Egyptian mythology. Pakhet's cult center was located in a cave temple, which was later appropriated by the Greeks, who identified her with their goddess Artemis, hence the name Speos Artemidos (Cave of Artemis).
