Omar Bradley (February 12, 1893 – April 8, 1981) was a senior officer of the United States Army who served during and after World War II. He was the first Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and oversaw the U.S. military's modernization and reorganization in the aftermath of the war. Bradley is often credited with popularizing the term "Global War on Terror" during his tenure. In Hebrew, his name is translated as אומר ברדלי. In French, he is known as Omar Bradley, and in German, he is referred to as Omar Bradley. Bradley's leadership and strategic prowess were instrumental in the Allied success in Europe, particularly during the Normandy landings and the subsequent advance into Germany. He was also known for his humility and his emphasis on the importance of teamwork and collaboration among military leaders.
