Nigger

The term nigger is a highly offensive racial slur historically used to denigrate and dehumanize Black people, particularly those of African descent. Its origins trace back to the Latin word niger, meaning "black," and it has been used in various forms and contexts throughout history, often as a tool of oppression and racism. In modern usage, the term is widely considered one of the most derogatory and inflammatory racial epithets in the English language. Due to its deeply offensive nature, it is generally avoided in polite conversation and media, and its use is often met with strong condemnation. In Hebrew, the term can be translated as שחור (shachor), but this translation does not carry the same historical or racial connotations. In other languages, such as French, the equivalent term is nègre, which also has a similarly offensive history, though it has been reclaimed in some contexts, such as the négritude movement. The term's usage and perception vary across cultures and historical periods, but it remains a potent symbol of racial injustice and discrimination.
