Matthew 2819

Matthew 28:19 is a verse from the New Testament of the Christian Bible, often referred to as the Great Commission. It is part of the final instructions given by Jesus Christ to his disciples after his resurrection. The verse reads: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." This verse is significant in Christian theology as it outlines the mission of the early church to spread the gospel to all people. The Hebrew translation of this verse is לכו-לכן ולמדו את כל הגויים, טבלו אותם בשם האב והבן ורוח הקודש. In Greek, the original language of the New Testament, it is written as πορευθέντες οὖν μαθητεύσατε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη, βαπτίζοντες αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ πατρὸς καὶ τοῦ υἱοῦ καὶ τοῦ ἁγίου πνεύματος. The Latin Vulgate translates it as Euntes ergo docete omnes gentes, baptizantes eos in nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti. Contextually, this verse is part of Jesus' post-resurrection appearance to his disciples on a mountain in Galilee, where he commissions them to make disciples of all nations, a central tenet of Christian evangelism.
