Baked Ham

Baked ham is a method of preparing ham, a cut of meat from the hind leg of a pig, by cooking it in an oven. This process typically involves seasoning the ham with various ingredients such as brown sugar, cloves, honey, mustard, or pineapple, and then baking it at a moderate temperature until it is fully cooked and tender. Baked ham is often served as the centerpiece of a meal, particularly during holidays and special occasions. The term "baked ham" is often used interchangeably with "roasted ham," although the two methods can involve slightly different techniques. In Hebrew, baked ham is known as שינקן אפוי (shin'ken afui). In French, it is called jambon cuit au four, and in Spanish, it is referred to as jamón al horno. The key to a successful baked ham is achieving a balance of flavors and ensuring that the meat is cooked to a safe internal temperature, typically around 145°F (63°C) for fresh ham and 160°F (71°C) for pre-cooked ham.
