Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;

Be cautious of those who write things down. They want to wear fancy clothes, enjoy being praised in public places, sit in important spots in synagogues, and be noticed at big parties.
